When needed, students may be employed on a part-time basis within the academic and administrative units of our university. Our students can work in academic and administrative units on campus, develop themselves in different disciplines, and gain valuable work experience.
For our programs where the language of instruction is English, students are required to meet the English proficiency requirement. Students who do not achieve a passing grade in the AKÜN English Proficiency Exam begin the appropriate language learning program at the School of Foreign Languages, based on the results of the “English Placement Test” administered by the School of Foreign Languages.
Prospective students may enroll directly in the first year upon evaluation by the School of Foreign Languages and the Directorate of Student Affairs of our university, based on their results from TOEFL, IELTS, or any internationally recognized English language proficiency examination.
According to our university regulations, students are required to attend at least 70% of the classes conducted across all academic units. Educational and instructional activities are carried out face-to-face on our campus.

TRNC nationals and prospective Turkish citizen students who have completed their entire high school education in the TRNC are placed in associate or bachelor's degree programs based on their performance in the Student Placement and Scholarship Ranking Examination and the programs they choose.
Prospective Turkish citizen students who have graduated from high schools or equivalent secondary education institutions may enroll in the associate or bachelor's degree programs to which they have been placed based on

Required Documents for Registration to Associate & Bachelor's Degree Programs
Students who have completed their secondary education abroad (excluding the TRNC and the Republic of Türkiye) and wish to study at our university may apply for registration with a high school diploma equivalency certificate issued by the Ministry of National Education (MEB), without interrupting their education.

Dear Student,
To facilitate the transportation and accommodation arrangements of our students who will travel to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus to complete their registration procedures, our university provides complimentary airport pickup and one night of accommodation.
Accommodation Service
Students who come to our university to complete their registration will be provided with one night of accommodation at Grand Pasha Hotel Nicosia.
Airport Pickup and Transfer Service
If you provide your flight details to our university at least 48 hours before your flight, you will be welcomed at Ercan Airport by our university shuttle and transferred to the hotel where you will be staying.
When planning your trip for the registration process, we kindly ask you to provide us with your flight details in a timely manner.

University of Mediterranean Karpasia
Newly admitted students to our university may apply for a passport before arriving in the TRNC. Although entry into the TRNC is also permitted with a national identity card, students are required to complete their student visa and immigration procedures within three months.
During registration week, we welcome our newly enrolled students at Ercan Airport and Kyrenia Port with our private shuttle services. To benefit from the transportation service, students are required to notify us by email at info@akun.edu.tr at least 48 hours before their arrival time. Students who are met at the airport or port are then transported to the university campus.
Every student enrolled at our university is required, after completing the registration process and arriving in the TRNC, to obtain health insurance as part of the immigration procedures by making the required payment to the Ministry of Health through the immigration permit system of the Immigration Department under the Ministry of Interior of the TRNC, within the specified period.
Once these procedures have been completed, students are eligible to benefit from healthcare services in the TRNC.
